Progress not perfection

Posted by scottgoodknight on May 24, 2010

Too many times in my life I have sought perfection at the expense of making real progress.

Real progress is sometimes slow, tedious and undramatic yet it is reliable.

We live in a world of “instant satisfaction” and many times we forget that nature has certain laws that never deviate.

You dont gain 20 extra pounds overnight….dont expect to lose it overnight either.

I am checking in with great satisfaction at the 10 lbs I have lost on this experiment.

No dramatic changes…no diet pills….no starvation…no marathon workouts (made it through two birthday parties and my 17th anniversary celebration…and I had icecream and cake at each party!)

Most importantly I FEEL GREAT!!

I will keep checking in each week until the deadline of July 6th.

See you next time.

Remember…strive for progress NOT perfection (Its a myth anyways!)

First of all I want to say awesome blog! I had a quick question in which I’d like to ask if you do not mind. I was interested to know how you center yourself and clear your mind before writing. I’ve had a difficult time clearing my thoughts in getting my ideas out there. I truly do take pleasure in writing however it just seems like the first 10 to 15 minutes are usually wasted just trying to figure out how to begin. Any ideas or tips? Kudos!
